In a blink of an eye, another year has come to a close. Turkeys have been cooked, presents have been wrapped & opened, and NYE is a few days away. It’s the perfect time to reflect on this past year and focus on new goals you want to set for 2019. Take time to think about what you really want to change or achieve this year, keep these tips in mind while planning.
Make sure your goals are realistic, remember nothing changes overnight.
Results happen over time, not overnight. Work hard, stay consistent, and be patient! Setting reachable goals that can be measured from start to finish will keep you on track. For example, if you want to get more sweat sessions in along with more exercise, keep a calendar somewhere you can see daily and mark off every sweat and workout session to make sure you’re hitting your goals. This way, you will hold yourself accountable and feel great every time you cross off another day completed! Goals are there to give you long-term motivation and help you stay focused along the way.
Embrace the lifestyle change.
Living a healthy life is not a phase, it’s not a temporary change in diet, it’s a permanent lifestyle change. Ask yourself how many times have you “re-started” your diet, how many times have you only stuck to your New Years resolution for a few months before you were back to old habits? In order to see true change, whatever it may be for you, takes total commitment and a complete change or shift in your lifestyle. No excuses! Make 2019 the year you stick to these changes not for a few months, but for the long run.
Try cutting out one (or more) negative thing from your life.
This could be eliminating something from your diet, cutting back on screen time, or limiting your alcohol and caffeine intake. You might just have to do some deeper reflecting here to find your answer. Keeping a positive mindset and eliminating the negativity from your life will make you happier, healthier, and less stressed...who doesn’t love the sound of that! Remember, don’t sweat the small stuff, save the sweating for the pod and the gym.
No matter how big or small, make sure to recognize yourself for each victory and celebrate it! Set a reward along with each goal to keep yourself energized and motivated. Even if you have a set-back (it’s ok we’re only human), remember the bigger picture and keep going. Every step along the way gets you to where you want to be.
So let’s welcome this new year with open minds, open hearts, and open to new adventures no matter where that takes us. Go and make it happen. SWEAT MORE and focus on being the best version of yourself daily.
The Sweat House Crew wishes you a happy, healthy, hot and sweaty new year!
