Small Ways to Change Your Life, BIG Impact

Happy March + National Nutrition Month!

Life has a way of catching up to us and “sweat” happens, which means we might not always be putting ourselves + our health first. Even though it sometimes seems impossible to do it all, there are small, yet significant ways, to “Change Your Life” one day at a time!

Throughout the month of March, we will be focusing mainly on nutrition, but also on ways you can live a happier and healthier life. It takes 21 days to make or break a habit, you CAN make small changes that WILL show overall benefits for a hot & healthy way of life.

1. Always start small and then work your way up for more.

Nothing is worse than loading on too much at once (in the gym, in the kitchen, in the workplace, & in all aspects of your daily routine). Setting goals and working your way towards the finish line will keep you on track + focused onwhyyou even started. This could be something as small as cutting back on sugar, cutting out meat for plant based replacements, replacing a product for an all-natural one, cutting out your third cup of coffee for more water, etc. Remember, Beyonce didn’t get famous overnight.

2. HYDRATE...we can’t stress this enough.

Your body is around 65% water, so it crucially needs proper hydration to function efficiently. Your organs will be thankful, you will feel better + more focused, and you will glow from the inside out! Better hydration leads to a better sweat with us too. Your body uses water to flush out toxins from a cellular level, so the more water in your system the more detoxifying your sweat will be!

3. Add vitamins + supplements into your diet.

Multivitamins, CBD oil, collagen, the list goes on! Sometimes the body NEEDS more vitamins + minerals that we aren’t getting daily from our diet. Always check with your physician on what will be best for your body and daily routine. You should feel and see a difference in your energy levels + overall health just by adding in a few supplements daily. Women especially might require more supplements + vitamins than men due to our genetic makeup.

4. Sweat it out.

Try sweating 3+ times a week. Keep your body moving, stay active, take the stairs instead of elevators, and most importantly COME VISIT US to reap the multiple benefits for a hot and healthy life! Sweating is your body’s safe and natural way to detoxify + will help you maintain your overall health and wellness.

5. Self care.

Make some time for yourself even if your to-do list is longer than a CVS receipt. Fuel your body with the goodness it needs to run properly, fuel your mind with reading, podcasts, or learn something new, unwind with a bath + facemask, light a candle...there are endless ways to recharge yourself (even if it’s only for five minutes daily).

6. You are what you eat (and drink).

When broken down, your health is around 80% diet and 20% exercise. Try to fuel your body with the proper nutrition it needs to run its best. Plenty of fruits + vegetables, protein, fiber, cut back on sugar and processed foods, drink more water, and try to eat the colors of the rainbow (when looking at what foods to get). Having a BALANCED diet will instantly make you feel + look your best, sleep better, perform better in all areas of your life, and a major way you can change your life. Health always starts from the inside out!

7. Sleep.

6 or more hours of sleep per night is recommended for healthy adults. Your body resets + repairs at night and needs this time to rest. Having a restful night’s sleep will keep you happy + healthy, you will have more focus + energy, you will maintain a balanced diet without as many “bad cravings”, you will be less stressed, + your skin will look better! Sweating often in an infrared sauna will also help you sleep soundly and sleep throughout the night, get ready to catch those zzz’s.

8. Be Mindful + Present.

It’s the new normal to always be plugged in and scrolling through our phones, ipads, etc. but don’t lose sight of what’s actually important might be sitting right in front of you. Go out with your friends + family and engage and connect with them, stay home and have a quality conversation with those around you, make the effort to put away the electronics (even if it’s just for a little bit) and enrich yourself with the people you’re surrounded by.

9. Dress for success.

If you look your best, you feel your best...and we’re even talking about when you wear athleisure (because leggings over everything)! So when you’re running errands on a Sunday, heading to and from CYL Sauna Studio, picking up the kids, and so on..try elevating your outfit with a cute jacket, printed leggings, funky sneakers, or something that will make you feel put together and ready to take on the day no matter what! Always be confident and don’t ever be afraid to wear something that expresses your true self. Metallics + animal prints are considered neutrals, right?

10. Stay clean and organized.

Clean + organized spaces will immediately make you feel less stressed and overwhelmed. Take it room by room, organize, get rid + donate the excess, and make your space uniquely you! Keeping a to-do list and calendar will help you tremendously... because we stopped being so perfect yesterday. Keeping spaces tidy makes it less stressful to find something, makes cooking or getting ready a breeze, and allows you to truly decompress from your day because every minute of our time is precious.
